This is a wonderfully written book. It's like giving word problems to children, making them think. I read it to.my 7 yr old grandaughter, who is in 2nd grade. She enjoyed it and was able to figure out all problems posed quite well. I encourage parents to purchase this book, it will get their chill thinking and help them look at word problems in a fun way.

Was hoping this would be a fun counting/math book for young children, but the illustrations were fairly dull, and the writing was boring and a bit odd.

This is a great book for young children to learn about the "real world" of math. Numbers are pervasive in our life and this book is for parents, or important people in the life of a child, to read to a young child. Computation seems to be very important at school, and of course, computation (which is just Arithmetic) has an important place....however, Mathematics goes beyond computation into our world in which we live each day. This is a great book to get that started. Numbers are in everything.

My son had to read this, well I had to read to him over the summer before going into Kindergarten, a nice read with great illustration. Amazing what he has learned this first year in Kindergarten, now he can read it himself

Every classroom should have this book! It can be used as a simple counting book, but look closer and you can do division, fractions and proportions.
