Culham has taken the approach of teaching the Traits to a level where both students and teachers can benefit from the suggestions and the writing activities. Her ideas, though directed toward the middle grades, can be adapted by the creative teacher to all levels of writing--middle grades through grade 12.

The 6 traits model takes time and effort to fully understand and implement effectively. This book is a great resource for those who are serious about using the traits and need some direction and ideas.

This book far exceeded my expectations as far as its condition. It has lots of lessons in it to help teachers teach the traits to her 3-5 students. Highly recommend this book.

I knew when purchasing the book that they were dated but felt the basic information might be what I needed at the time. I quickly found that I could find most of the information online through searches. The book arrived in a timely manner and was as described.
